Big Cat Art Scanning and Printing Services

Framing Artistry has made Giclée Printing affordable and is now preferable fine art reproduction for artists.  Emerging artists and seasoned professionals have been using our services with superior results.

Unlike lithographs, which start to fade almost immediately, Giclée prints are produced with pigmented inks and 100% archival papers. Guaranteed not to fade for over 100 years.  Our on-staff artists brings attention to detail in color proofing and correction.

Our "Print-on Demand" Service allows you to stock only those prints you need, keeping your overhead and storage space to a minimum.

See our Pricing Schedule and FAQ's for more information on Giclée printing.

The Process:

We begin by scanning and proofing you artwork.  Artist will receive an 8"x10" proof of their artwork for final approval of color.

If a digital file is submitted by the artist, the artwork must be in a JPG, TIFF or PSD format.  Profiles must be embedded.  Artist will receive an 8" x 10" proof of their artwork.  If color correction is necessary, a fee will be charged (see below).

Upon acceptance of the proof, a final print will be made.  Note that if artist wishes to scale artwork up, or down, the artwork must scale proportionally.  Images may be cropped at artists request

A high-res digital file of the artwork will be given to the artist and a copy will be kept at Framing Artistry for future prints.  Images that have not been re-printed for one year will be removed from the system  The artist is responsible to keep their copy in a safe and  accessible area for future printing

Frequently Asked Questions about Giclée Printing

Why Giclée Prints?
Giclée prints allow the artist more flexibility and cost control over their art inventory.  Prints are created "On Demand" allowing for a minimal investment in cost and storage space.  This lower upfront cost also allows the artist to have more variety of images and sizes for their customers

What Do I Need to Have a Giclée Print Made?
We first start with a scan.  We prefer to scan the art from the original, but the scan may also be provided by the artist.  Our on-staff artist can also create a scan from your transparencies. After your approval of the final proof, the print can be made

How Accurate Are The Colors?
Giclée printing is a very accurate printing process, but there are colors which do not fall into the printers color gamut.  Neon colors, silvers, golds, some pure reds are not able to print.  On reviewing your artwork, we can tell you what colors may not be 100% accurate and our alternatives.

How Wide Can You Print?
We can print up to 43" Wide

What Surfaces Can Be Printed On?
Giclée printing allows for a wide variety of printing surfaces.  We offer watercolor paper in rough and smooth surface, canvas and photographic paper.

How Long Does a Giclée Last?
A Giclée is lightfast for 100 years.  By using archival papers and pigments, and treating your Giclée print the same way you would your original artwork, you can be assured that your print will be just as beautiful and rich years from now.

How Do I Price My Giclée Prints?
We suggest new artists start their prices as 4x the cost of the print.  As the artist becomes more recognized and collected, the price can go up from there.  Embellished prints would be higher
