Grilled Cheese: Work in Progress (Completed)

Here are the character sketches for the mail character.  I like his face, but a little too crazy. 

Here the mouse brigade is being fleshed out too.

This is an example of what goes wrong.  The had is at the wrong angle, the face is too flat and the limbs are round like sausages. Eyes are flat and the foot placement is funny too. Start again!

This is the second sketch. The action is much better this time. The hat is in perspective. The eyes are not just mirror images of each other.  He appears to have a "can do" attitude, but not too cocky.

Starting to add in some of the shading, making him a little more realistic. 

Hey.. its a FireCat! Much better than the earlier one.  I went with the traditional beige fire suit and an old fashioned nozzle for the hose because it was more interesting than the ones they use now.
 

Here I am a bit father.. We have Mice!   They have pretty serious expressions. I think they have lunch here often.

I smell smoke!  The smoke was a challenge.  I had to determine whether I wanted realistic smoke or a cartoonish representation.  I went somewhere in between.
